As you have probably noticed, I’m not a big fan of the “let’s show our love” kind of holidays. Why? Because I think we shouldn’t set aside one special day of the year to let our loved ones know that they are important to us, but instead we should try and make them feel loved every single day. After all, life is made of little moments, those tiny details that don’t seem important in the big scheme of things are what truly compose a happy life.
However, if you chose not to celebrate, for instance, Mother’s Day because you’re always making your mom happy and expressing your love in a million different ways, I bet the lady in question wouldn’t be thrilled about it. Because it’s Mother’s Day and HOW DARE YOU.
So, let’s not be rebellious and roll with it. Take her to lunch. Bake her a cake. Bring her flowers. This weekend and whenever you remember that you love her, which I bet will be almost every day because she’s your mom, and I’m trying not to get cheesy here, but moms rock. And everyone will always say that THEIR mom is the best, and you know? They’re so right. Because if her kids see her as the best mom of the planet, she certainly is.
In my experience, the best kind of present you could ever give your mom is something you made. Those gifts make her heart explode with joy because regardless of the thing itself, you poured a little of your soul (beware!!! we’re getting cheesy!!!) into them. Just remember that weird whatever-it-is you made for her in kinder garden. She still keeps it, right?
But not everyone is crafty or a good cook, right? Despair not, uncrafty souls. You’ve come to the right place 😉
I can’t think of a mom who wouldn’t enjoy pampering, so pamper her!!! Fix her some floral bath salts, put them in a nice container and voilá! You have a homemade, really nice present that your mom will surely enjoy. This recipe is very easy to make and the best thing is you can put it together in a snap. So, with no further ado, I present you
Mom’s Relaxing Bath recipe
- Place 1 cup of Epsom salt in a glass bowl or jar.
- Add 10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil and 10 drops of Geranium Essential Oil. Stir until there are no clumps and the essential oils have been absorbed by the Epsom salt.
- Add ¼ cup Himalayan pink salt and stir until well combined.
- Add ½ cup of dried rose petals and stir until well combined.
And that’s it. They turn out so pretty!!! And the best thing is they’re also good for her skin, they’ll help her detox and get an overall sense of balance and well being. She’ll be so relaxed after this spa treatment!!!
Now, you just have to place them in a pretty container and you’re good to go. And to make your life easier and because it’s Freebie Friday, I made you a flowery label (in different sizes, so it fits the cointainer you chose) especially for mom.
Happy Mother’s Day 💐
